Crotchet hats

So today marks the first day that I am going to be starting a new project.  I have been slowing re-discovering myself lately and find that I need an outlet to clear my head without going insane.  So I think by starting this blog I can be creative (maybe) and let you all see what I have going on in my life.  Not that it is all that interesting I don't think but it's something.  Right?

So before Christmas I taught myself how to crotchet by watching a lot of YouTube videos.  Who would have thought, right?  It started one day when I bought a roll of yarn at a yard sale for ten cents.  Ten cents!  I needed to do something with it...but what?  the yarn was a baby pink color and it was slightly dirty.  I played around with different ideas but nothing was peaking my interest.  I started watching knitting videos and thought it was something I could do.  So I bought some knitting needles and started learning.  Well....it was much harder than I had anticipated and felt overwhelmed when I didn't get it right away.  Then I stumbled upon a beginners crotchet video.  That seemed easier.  So I went out again and bought a crotchet hook.  I did a few small projects, one was a small hat for my cat Phoebe.  She was none to happy with me but hey, I needed a subject and I wanted to start on something small.  It was a very cute hat.  I then adventured into bigger hats.  Once I got the pattern down and figuring out how to increase, decrease, etc., it was in the bag.  I was a crotchet hat making machine.  I found a lot of cheap yarn and Christmas funds were a bit tight this year so I made everyone a hat.  So here are a few that I make that I had left over.

I had a lot of purple I guess.  I loved seeing people post pictures on Facebook wearing their hats.  My mother in law loves them so much she wants to keep making hats so she can sell them.  I gave her a few to see how she does.   For now it is something I like to do as a special gift from me.  Would you like a hat from me?
