As a result of watching A LOT of YouTube videos I stumbled upon something that I always wanted to learn which was how to apply eye shadow on a mono lid. I am one of those people that do not have a crease in their eye lids. I always see eye makeup that is soooo pretty but the eye has a crease and I didn't know how I could create that look with my eye type. I remember a long time ago looking into that and I must have gotten no where because I stuck to my plain ol' look. Until recently when I found a bunch of girls that had my same eye that had amazing makeup tips. So that led into all sorts of makeup areas that I just wanted to know more of. So you can say I am pretty much obsessed with makeup right now. For Valentine's day, as part of my gift, Jorge got me my first makeup brush set by Ecotools. Many of these makeup gurus on Youtube used MAC or Sigma brushes but I couldn't see myself spending that much money on brushes. And I liked that the Ecotools were inexpensive and environment friendly. Jorge got me the basic brushes: blush, powder, smudge, blending, contouring...all that I needed to get started. Now I have never tried any other brushes...well that's a lie...I have bought cheap brushes to try out cause they were cheap. Mostly blush or powder brushes. And they sucked. The brushes were stiff and kind of hurt my face. These Ecotool brushes are so soft and I love them. Slowly I started adding a few things to my collection, nothing too crazy but things I saw that appealed to me. My favorite thing of all time right now is Mabelline's Tattoo eye shadow. I love the texture and I have seen that they are comparable to MAC's cream shadows. Now I don't own anything MAC so I can't say that they are just a good or worse. I just know that I love them better than the powder eye shadows. The other thing that I love is E.L.F.'s waterproof eyeliner. These are only $1 at Target!! I couldn't believe how that could be and I never knew about it. I have been very loyal to Mabelline's Stilleto liquid eyeliner. And I have to say that I like E.L.F better and you can't beat that price! I have created several looks using different colors, colors that I would never had dreamed of ever using and it's been working out pretty well. It's difficult to photograph some of the looks, I guess I have to pack it on or my lighting is bad. It could be both? Hey, I am still new at this. As some of you that know me, my hair has always been my pride and joy. I love my hair. It's at a perfect length, cut and color right now. I always take time every morning to style my hair. Most of the time I curl my hair, once in a while I will have it straight or I will put it up in a messy bun.
These are just a few looks I have been sporting lately. Course my hair is the only thing noticeable in these pics. I need to figure out how to better capture my eye makeup. This is just a starting point. I am really into these big dangling earrings right now. I have been finding these at Asian stores for no more than $2 a pair. I just noticed that my hair is a different color in each picture. That's weird since these pics were taken in a course of 2 weeks, I think? I did dye it deep red but the 3rd picture is the only one that you can really see the red. So that's about it. The next phase to my makeover is my nemesis...my weight. I go up and down and back up. I can't seem to shake it and it's my fault cause I give in to temptation. But I have to keep trying. I could do it if I just stuck to it and not waiver but I like to waiver. I turn 35 this year which still shocks me and I don't want to finish the rest of my 30's at my the weight that I am now. So back on my diet I go. Let's see it goes.
