Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Colors

I have 6 of these lippes and I wanted to just talk about these.  Maybelline has a very large selection in these lip colors.  They have them divided up into different tones, finish, etc.  Out of all of the drugstore brands, Maybelline definitely has the most options available.  I'm not into Pearl finishes or the darker shades.  I decided to give 6 a try.  I can't and won't name all the colors available but definitely check out Maybelline's website for a full view of color ranges in lip products (and anything else that may strike your fancy)  3 from the Neutral tones, 2 from the Pink tones and 1 from the High Shine line.  Colors shown below from left to right: 215 Totally Toffee, 235 Warm Me Up, 375 Toffee Tango, 055 Pinkalicious, 075 Let Me Pink, and 850 Lacquered Brown (this is from High Shine).

The colors I chose are very subtle and not very shocking.  I like the colors they do give on the lips, just enough color for everyday work attire.  These are very moisturizing and glide on effortlessly.  There is a noticeable fragrance to these.  If you are sensitive to perfumey lipsticks, these may be a turn off.  The scent is kind of a sweet plastic smell.  It's really hard to describe.  It's a unique scent to Maybelline lippies.  It's not as bad as Rimmels lipsticks or L'Oreal but it's there.

Lacquered Brown is the only shade out of the 6 that has shimmer particles.  It's apparent in the tube and visible on the lips but it's not gritty.  I don't normally care for shimmery, frosty lipsticks so I don't reach for this one as much as the others.  My favorite shade is Totally Toffee.  This one stays in my bag at all times.  If you are contemplating picking one of these Colorsensational lipsticks up, I'd definitely recommend it.  The only advice I can give is, select your color choice wisely.  The pink tones are very pretty in the tube and swatched but on my lips, they were not flattering on my lips. It's a lot to take in when you are facing all the options but if you are somewhere that they allow you to swatch it or test it out, I would recommend going there.  Rite Aid is good about letting you return lightly used makeup.  I have never returned anything at CVS or Walgreens so I can't say how they are about that but I hear all drugstores are suppose to let you return makeup that you don't want to keep.  I always feel funny about it so I end up keeping it.  I figure, you never know when that one shade may come in handy, you know?
