Revlon Kissable lip balms - update

Okay, so I know that I have already posted about these new Revlon Kissable Lip Balms AND so many bloggers and Vloggers have talked/swatched about these but I still wanted to give my take on these since I have been using them for a few weeks now.  Plus I got 2 new colors that I am in love with...seems like I say that about everything new I get don't I?  Oh well!  Actually not everything new I get I love, I just choose not to talk too much about the stuff I get I don't like.  But I should in case anyone is wondering.

Originally I had gotten 3 colors out of the 12 shades in this new lip balm line: Precious, Honey and Romantic.  I recently got 2 more: Darling and Rendezvous.  To recap (again), these are in a form of a crayon-like tube that does not need to be sharpened.  I can't tell you how much that makes me happy!  I hate things that I have to sharpen.  I kinda wish Milani Liquif'eye liner pencils were this way also.  Off subject!  You get 0.095 oz of product, it doesn't sound a whole lot when you look at it that way but there is a lot of product and I can't see myself going through one that quickly even if I wore it everyday for months straight.  These have a slight mint smell when applying which is refreshing to me.  I like anything that has a mint smell.  Certain colors does give you a minor temporary tingly feeling when you first put it on but not all the shades I have give that affect.  Precious did and Darling.  The darker shades (darker to me) did not have this affect on my lips.  And there is no mint taste that I can detect.  If anybody that does not read Nouveau Cheap's blog, I highly suggest that you do, G gives a full review of how these apply on the lips.  I think her blog is genius...if I haven't mentioned it before...LOL.  I full on agree on her perception of how these go on.  They pull at first but then glides on nicely when you casually build up the color.  I have worn each shade to test the lasting color affects.  The only one that I did not care for was Honey.  The one that I felt did the best was Darling which I tested out today.  I put it on first thing in the morning, was gone all day, at 2 meals while out, put some lip balm on to moisturize my lips after eating, came home and napped (yes I took a nap today...it was that kind of day) and the color was still on my lips.  I was very impressed.  There is a nice gloss affect when you first put these on but it does not stay one if you end up drinking or eating something.  But the color stain that is left behind is so natural.  Not weird, like a ring around the lip look.  Honey was the only one I saw that did this, hence why this was my least favorite.  Applying a lip balm over the stain does nothing to remove the color but gives it a bit of that sheen back like when you first applied it on.  Love Love Love!  It's not something that is difficult to take off either, I didn't need to take a loofah to my lips to get the stain off, like some other brands I won't mention.  I took my makeup wipes and did one swipe and it was gone.

Below are swatches again of the colors I got, 5 out of the 12.  From left to right: Precious, Darling, Honey, Rendezvous and Romantic.  Sorry the lighting in my vanity area gives off this orange glow and I couldn't get the camera to take a decent picture.   On my lips Romantic is the darkest out of the 5 for me.  I normally don't wear something that bright but I liked the look it gave.  It wasn't too "in your face" red.  Below is a picture of me wearing Romantic one day and this is the color at the end of the work day.  Not bad at all.  And this is with one re-application but it was literally one swipe on the bottom and top lip.

Below are better photos of the packaging of each color.  Same color sequence as the swatches above.

It didn't occur to me to take a photo of my look this morning with Darling first on and what it looked like right before I took it off.  Sorry I will have to think about that next time.

FINAL VERDICT: if you guys don't already know I love these lip balms.  My only complaint is the way Honey wears down at the end of the day.  I find it strange this is the only one out of the 5 that not only gets way darker and turns into a weird dark rose color but it leaves that ring around my outer lips.  Precious is a very nude color and it barely shows up on camera, as you can tell from the swatch on my arm.  I did a trial look for Rendezvous and even though this is a color I would normally not get for myself (not quite an orange wearer) I do like the look of this color on me.  I will have to take a photo soon of a OOTD or LOTD wearing this color.  I do want to get one more for sure which is Cherish, it's a more pinker tone to Darling but its a light pop of color.  The darker shades I may have to skip because I won't wear them.  I love the look of the colors but there's no point in collecting them if I won't wear them.  Although I am torn about Smitten.  A lot of people have said this is one of their favorites so I am curious.  I went to Target today and saw there was one available and it just looked so dark that I didn't get it.  So of course when I got home, I started watching Youtube gurus with this color and it made me want to get it again.  Sucked in again by Youtube.

I got all of mine from Rite Aid.  They retail there for $8.99 but Target has them for $7.69.  There is a better selection at Rite Aid.  The one I went to didn't have these for 40% off which made me sad.  They had at least one of each shade available though.  Target...not so much.  Everybody here shops at Target so it didn't surprise me that there were only 2 shades available.  But I noticed that the display didn't have all of the colors.  Hmmmm.... I went to Walmart also and they didn't have any of these which was disappointing.  I haven't seen these at my CVS and I haven't been to Walgreens in forever.  It's the farthest away from me.  Apparently Walgreens is not a happening place around where I live.  I could seriously go on about these but I will stop.  Just go get one and try it out.  You won't stop at one.  If you have tried these, what did you think and which one was your favorite color?
