Lately I have been put off with my set up because I felt like when I reached for things it wasn't where I wanted it to be. I knew that I would eventually have to tweek it as time went on. Well today was the day. I decided to do away with my train case. I wasn't going to need to take my makeup on a trip anytime soon and I don't think I would take that big case on vacation anyways. So I decided to take the makeup I had in my drawers and store them in the train case and things that I use on the regular would stay in the drawers. By clearing the top surface of the dresser I was able to move my make up brushes and tools where my make up was. I LOVE this set up a lot better. I thought I would share some photos of how I organized. I have a bit of an organizing obsession. Everything needs to have a place and a reason to be where it is. My whole place is that way. The only space that needs my attention is my closet but it needs a major makeover that I can't dedicate to right now. Anyhoo...moving on shall we?
Same drawer that I got at a yard sale for $8 a month ago...I think. Everything in these drawers are things that I use on a regular basis. I have my E.L.F 100 eye shadow palette on the top because it doesn't really fit well anywhere. For my birthday I got the makeup brush holder which is now with my makeup instead of on my sink counter.
The middle drawer contains all my face makeup. Foundation, blushes, bronzers, setting spray and makeup remover wipes. The bottom drawer contains some of my nail polishes and nail wheels. I have a lot more polishes but these here are my favorite colors/brands that I reach for more often. Right now I am in love with Wet n Wild polishes and they are all in my little carry case.
The 2 smaller top drawers contain my lip products, mascaras, concealers and eyebrow powders. The other drawer contains only eye shadows. I do have quite a few of the Maybelline Eye Tattoo pots but I have a lot of Wet n Wild shadow trios. But I have to admit that I use my E.L.F. palette a lot these days. It's just fun to use all the different colors. Still learning what looks best on me and I swear no matter what color combo I put together, it all ends up looking the same. I need to work on that.
These are all the brushes I own. I have them divided between my E.L.F Studio brushes and Ecotools. I do have a few Rite Aid brushes in there also. I don't have any high end brushes like MAC or Sigma. I do want one buffing brush from Real Techniques. Part of my Ulta shopping goal...soon I hope. But what I do have I enjoy quite a bit. For a beginner these brushes were so inexpensive and the bristles are so soft. Sorry my powder and blush brushes are dirty 0_0. I have 2 size kabuki brush from each brand. The silver cylinder thing in the middle is my portable retractable kabuki brush. The right side contains my travel size Ecotools and my eyebrow pencils and eye liners. The spot in the back holds my brush, teasing comb and nail filer. I love that paddle brush. One of my good friends bought it for me for our Christmas swap last year at Ross. In case your wondering, one of my tweezers has images of high heeled shoes on it. I got it at Sally's Beauty Supply for 99 cents. It does not work as well as my Revlon tweezers though but it does the basic. For those who don't know about the E.L.F Studio brushes, these are super cheap and some are really nice. I got the 11 pc set on sale from the E.L.F. site for like $5. I had just discovered their makeup and I wanted to try out so many things from their $1 line and Studio line (which most are just $3). They recently had a sale if you purchased $25 worth of product you could get the 11 pc brush set for $3.50. I think that was the sale. I love their flat top brush and I have 3 of them. It's hard to ignore the $3 per brush deal. A lot of my go to eye shadow brushes are by Ecotools. Most I got in sets except for the travel kabuki and Bronzer kabuki (which I so so so LOVE). Can't see it at all in these pics :( Rite Aid makeup brushes are very nice. I have the large powder brush which I adore for my blush application. Seems very big to apply blush but I use it for when I am not contouring and just want a clean sweep of pink. I have the angled brush which I like for contouring my cheeks. I have 2 of each of the eye shadow brushes and smudge brushes. These are perfect for my eye shape. Recently I saw a Vlog review on Walmart's Paris Presents line of brushes. I ended up getting 2 of the angled blush brush, duo concealer brush and duo eye shadow brush. The bristles are so soft and I experience no shedding even after washing them.
I got this Hello Kitty make up bag from my good friend and this goes right in my purse. I am not a Hello Kitty junkie which is hard to believe since I own so many cases with Hello Kitty theme and now my make up bag. But I do love the cuteness of it all.
I am contemplating on reviewing my make up brushes. Would anyone care to read that? I think there are so many Youtube videos that you can watch on these brushes. I got them because of those videos! I can't remember who's in particular but I watched a lot of videos before I decided to invest on so many brushes. I do want to try some Sigma brushes, Real Techniques and Bubbi brushes. But the question is, do I need that many makeup brushes?? Probably not. It's just a weird obsession when you see someone reviewing something and then all of a sudden you have to have it. Journey continues, until then...
